Our main goal at Results Physiotherapy is the well-being of our patients, which is why we’ve created an in-home concierge program that allows you to receive the care you need in the comfort of your own home. As we continue to keep safety our main priority, our team is committed to getting you back to doing what you love and living pain-free!
We’ve extended our top-of-the-line physical therapy services from visiting our clinics in person to in-home physical therapy. We provide care to our patients in their home just as we would in our clinic – without our patients getting in the car. Our team at Results helps patients feel better through our hands-on manual therapy approach combined with personalized exercise plans and body education.
If you’re curious about what in-home physical therapy is and how it differentiates itself from our traditional in-person physical therapy or our telehealth physical therapy, then we’ve got the answers you’re looking for. The great thing about outpatient physical therapy is that it can be provided in a variety of different locations, environments, and through the use of different forms of virtual/remote technology. These recent advancements and personalized services help patients gain access to physical therapy services regardless of where they may be.
In-home physical therapy is another way that our physical therapists at Results PT can directly connect with patients and help them overcome their pain, improve function, and increase their range of motion in their own homes. For the most part, physical therapy used to always be done in a clinic or hospital, and patients would have to figure out a way to travel to and from their appointments. Now with virtual physical therapy and in-home physical therapy services, patients no longer need to figure out how they’re going to get to their upcoming appointment and can have their physical therapist go straight to them.
In-home physical therapy is great for those patients who cannot leave the house due to a recent surgery, pain, or other accommodations that need to be worked around. When it comes to physical therapy care, more options are always better, which is why Results PT has made it a priority to assist patients through a variety of different ways, whether in-person at one of our hundreds of clinics across the country, virtually, or at-home.
If you’re considering which type of physical therapy service you’d like to sign up for, then you might be wondering whether or not you can actually benefit from in-home physical therapy. There are a variety of reasons why you should consider in-home physical therapy when making your choice for which PT service to go with.
In-home physical therapy is great for those patients who have a difficult time leaving their house to attend an appointment for one reason or another. Some of the most common reasons that a patient might struggle with traveling to and from their physical therapy appointments include severe conditions, an inability to move and travel normally, and more.
Physical therapy at home is also a great benefit for those individuals who would much rather do their physical therapy services in the comfort of their own home. Some patients would much rather do their physical therapy in the confines of their own living room than travel to a clinic in an unfamiliar environment, and that’s perfectly fine! In-home physical therapy can provide a multitude of benefits for a variety of reasons to patients, and you should consider it when booking your next physical therapy appointment.
In-home physical therapy can provide many benefits to patients including but not limited to added convenience, a focus on the basics, and real-life applications.
For instance, when a patient has to book an appointment to visit a physical therapy clinic, they’re having to navigate several things that can conflict with one another including their work schedule, their home life, the travel time to and from the clinic, and more.
With in-home physical therapy, patients no longer have to try and line up the perfect time-slot each week to get to their appointment. Instead, patients can have the added convenience of having the physical therapist come to them when the time is most appropriate. For those patients who deal with something that might be preventing them from traveling easily or find it difficult to block out a reasonable chunk of time to make it to a physical therapy appointment, the added convenience of a concierge physical therapist is something that is desperately needed and beneficial.
Another benefit that comes with in-home physical therapy is that physical therapists will guide you and educate you on exercises, stretches, and other manual therapy techniques without the use of massive equipment. Its part of the fun of being a physical therapist as our physical therapists will come up with creative methods to help educate you on the proper ways to perform exercises, what home equipment you can use, and more.
Our physical therapists might bring some equipment to assist you during your physical therapy session in your home, but you won’t have to worry about them lugging large pieces of equipment as they travel to your location. The great thing about the creative ways our physical therapists will teach you some of the at-home physical therapy techniques is that it highlights ways in which you can complete your physical therapy homework on your own time. Educating patients about ways in which they can perform routine physical therapy exercises and stretches with what they already have also means that patients are more likely to stick to their treatment program over time.
One of the things that many patients tell us they’d like to do while going through their physical therapy treatment program is that they’d like to perform certain tasks, or get back to doing certain activities. With our in-home physical therapy, you can talk with your physical therapist and show exactly what you’d like to accomplish.
As you go through the in-home physical therapy program, your physical therapist will perform a comprehensive evaluation to get an understanding of where you’re at and where you’d like to be with your goals and functionality/pain management objectives. From there, your physical therapist will work with you to see what kind of real-life applications and scenarios you’d like to complete in your home.
For instance, if you’d like to be able to walk up and down the steps in your home easier and with less pain, your physical therapist can actually see the staircase that you’re talking about. They can take note of some of the challenges that will present themselves, what kind of metrics the two of you should be striving for, and what treatment program might entail. In this regard, in-home physical therapy not only provides additional benefits to patients who can showcase their treatment objectives to their physical therapist, but PTs can also have a better understanding of what functionality you’d like to reach throughout your treatment program.
Our team understands each patient has different needs which is why we’ve provided the option of in-home concierge physical therapy. If you are familiar with Results, you know that as a patient, you will always be working with the same physical therapist. Why? We believe our one-on-one relationship-focused approach produces the most positive outcomes in recovery. This way your physical therapist is up-to-date on your body, your injuries, and your goals moving forward.
Our Concierge PT program provides the same easy access and continuity of care that our patients experience in the clinic, in the comfort and safety of each patient’s home.
If you’re interested in starting some in-home physical therapy as part of our concierge physical therapy service, setting up an appointment with us is easy! If you have a physical therapist you see regularly, you can either reach out directly to set up another session or give your local Results Physiotherapy clinic a call to schedule an appointment.
If you’re concerned with traveling to and from your next PT session at one of our clinics, then you should consider setting up an appointment for an in-home PT session. Depending on the state in which you live, you might need to seek a referral for your physical therapy session. Many states now provide direct access options, which means that you don’t need to get a physical therapy referral before booking your next appointment. Once you’ve determined whether or not you need to get a referral or you live in a direct access state and don’t need one, the next step is to check with your insurance.
Some insurance providers won’t cover in-home physical therapy, so you need to check. We’ve outlined the insurance we accept at Results Physiotherapy. If you don’t know off the top of your head whether or not your insurance provider will cover in-home physical therapy, you might be able to find it on their website, in your policy, or by calling them up for a brief phone call. Some insurance providers might also have certain limitations on it in terms of how many visits you can take advantage of or other restrictions you need to be aware of.
Once you know whether or not you can use your insurance with in-home physical therapy visits, the next step is to book an appointment.
Once your appointment is scheduled, all you need to do is sit back and relax until your physical therapist arrives at your door. Your therapist will arrive prepared with all the necessary equipment to conduct your personalized treatment session. You get to focus on feeling better and we will take care of the rest!
If you are unsure if you need a physical therapist and would like to inquire about recovering from an injury or re-occurring pain, we are happy to answer your questions! We have a dedicated website page called Ask a Therapist where we have our expert team available to answer your questions within two business days. If you’d rather connect more personally, give us a call and we’d love to schedule a free over-the-phone or in-person consultation. We look forward to hearing from you and getting you started on your road to recovery.
